About Chatham-Kent EMS
What We Do
- Provides emergency ground ambulance and high quality, ongoing patient care outside the hospital environment to residents of Chatham-Kent and surrounding areas
- Respond to ~13,000 calls annually
- Employ 100 primary care paramedics and support staff with an Operations Leadership team of nine
- Deploys up to nine ambulances from six paramedic response stations strategically located throughout the Municipality of Chatham Kent – all stations are equipped with patient care supplies to ensure readiness to respond and to provide a degree of self-sufficiency in the event of a supply interruption
- Deliver a Community Paramedics Improving Patient Outcomes Program that received the Leadership in Community Paramedicine award from the Ontario Paramedicine Secretariat in 2020

Our Service Commitment
- Providing high quality Emergency Medical Services, including communications and call taking, preparing for arrival, assessing the incident scene, patient assessment and treatment, transporting the patient, and transfer
- Preventing infections and minimizing exposure to hazards
- Ensuring safe operation of EMS vehicles, equipment, and medical devices
- Increasing community awareness of EMS and establishing strong partnerships for public education and emergency preparedness
- Building a high performing EMS team, including medical oversight, interdisciplinary teams and worklife balance
- Maintaining user-friendly and effective clinical and information systems for all patients and calls
- Monitoring quality and safety and achieving positive outcomes through data collection and the use of quality indicators
